Film Photography Zines
As of September 2025 I have made and published 8 film photography zines. Three were all my own work (Every Summer, 35mm Japan, Polaroids of Wynnum) with the rest being compilations of film photography competitions I ran on my Matt Loves Cameras podcast.
I have a few copies left of 35mm Japan, the rest of the zines are sold out. Take out a monthly or yearly subscription to my Substack to download each zine in PDF format instantly!

Every Summer Film Photography Zine
I never wanted to go to the Isle of Wight. I didn't have anything against the place per se, but we didn't have the time nor money to do the trip I had planned, so this is where we ended up. Until I met my wife, the only thing I knew about the place was that it featured in The Beatles' song "When I'm 64".
Pantastic! Zine
In 2020 I ran a competition via my podcast for images taken with cheap plastic panorama cameras. These are usually the type of camera that people throw away, yet from the images in this zine, you can see the incredible results they are capable of.
Purple Grain film photography zine
In 2021 I held a competition through my podcast for photos shot on LomoChrome Purple. Still in the grip of a pandemic, the competition was popular with listeners: 54 entries rolled in from 9 countries across the globe. The photos showed the incredible range of colours and tones that are possible with this wonderful film.
Polaroids of Wynnum
For some reason I always shoot Polaroids in winter. Maybe it’s because I’m worried about my instant masterpieces getting heat damaged during Brisbane’s hot and humid summers. Or maybe it’s because I like the glow of the winter sunset colours here in Queensland.
Xpro Film Photography Zine
Xpro was the 5th Matt Loves Cameras podcast community collab competition. For those who've never heard of it, xpro is short for "cross processing". This is the act of processing film in a chemical solution intended for a different type of film. The process can create interesting and unique effects, as you'll see from the incredible rang…
Sprocktastic Film Photography Zine
In 2020 I ran the ‘Sprocktastic’ competition via my podcast. The main 2 rules were that entrants must: shoot 35mm (135) film expose the sprockets. The competition was a lot of fun. Roxanna Angles helped me judge the entries. I loved seeing the variety of creative photos from people all over the world.
Pantastic! Adventures in Fauxpan Volume 2
In 2021-2022, I held a second Pantastic! competition via my podcast.
