There’s a new colour negative film on the block: Lomography’s LomoChrome Color 92. I’ve just shot 3 rolls and here are my thoughts and a few sample images.
What I like about Color 92
Greens look amazing (see image above)
New colour films are always good
Grain is quite pronounced comapred to Kodak colour negative films.
What I don’t like
Some images look underexposed - is this a true 400 speed film?
Some images have a blue-ish colour cast (but this can be fixed in post)
It’s fun to shoot, but at $13.90 USD a roll, I prefer Kodak films.
How I’m shooting my next Color 92 rolls
Although this is a regular colour negative film, I almost put this in the “special use” catergory alongside Turquoise, Purple and Metropolis.
Keen to see more sample photos? In my YouTube review of Color 92 I feature over 30 images shot on my Olympus Pen FT half frame SLR.
My favourite image is the accidental double exposure below - and I think this is where this film shines. Lomography style experimentation, double exposures, light leaks.
It’s a fresh film with an expired film look.

Where did Color 92 come from?
It’s well known that Lomography’s 100, 400 and 800 speed colour films are made in the USA by Kodak. Color 92 has a “Made in China” sticker covering up “Made in Germany” printed on the box. So what’s the story? Check out my YouTube review of Color 92 for my thoughts.
