My friend Lucy Lumen asked me what the highlight of my Japan trip was for an upcoming edition of her Substack. What can I say? I’m a man of simple pleasures. Walking around the streets of Japan’s towns and cities taking photos was my favourite thing for sure. In this post I’m sharing a few photos from a Sunday morning walk around the Nihonbashi district of Tokyo.
We stayed near TCAT - Tokyo City Air Terminal. It’s an old bus station that’s seen better days, but it had a retro charm to it. I love these Toyota Crown taxis, I wonder if there will be any left in 10 years?
Walking around the city, I was truck by how many bridges there are in Tokyo. I really love this photo, I only realised that I forgot to put this in my latest video when putting together this post.
I’m pretty sure this means keep out! It was a cool Spring morning but it was lovely walking around in the sunshine.
I loved walking over the bridges but the traffic noise was pretty loud. I took a few photos on this bridge.
We missed most of the cherry blossoms in Tokyo, but there were still plenty of flowers.
Apparently umbrella theft is a think in super-polite Japan. Not sure what happened to these two.
Tokyo Film Photography Walk video
These are just some of the photos that I feature in my latest YouTube video: Tokyo Film Photography Walk. I hope you enjoy it! Under each photo in the video I list the camera and which film I used.
