The weather in Flores was perfect for photography. Sunny, though a little hot, with bright blue skies and clouds on the horizon.
Did I take too many cameras to capture our day trip to Komodo National Park? You bet I did. This set is from the Olympus Stylus Epic with Kodak ColorPlus 200. The scenery was absolutely stunning. I’ll be sharing lots more posts taken on film and digital cameras in the coming weeks.
You can see from these images why the Stylus Epic has been such a popular choice for a compact travel camera since its debut in the 90s. Light and compact with a sharp f/2.8 lens. It’s also splashproof, but I didn’t put it to the test.
Almost every place we went to was begging to be photographed. As well as the day trip, I also loved walking into town past all the shops. I did that 2 days in a row.
There was always so many questions I had… what was in all those boxes? What’s in those sacks? I guess I’ll never know.
The locals were very curious about this white guy with his camera. They’d often pose for me or call me over to say hi. I took a photo of this group of lads playing football, then they asked me to send the photo to them via WhatsApp. Here they are putting their number in my phone. I sent them the digital photos a couple hours later, with a simple “Thanks you” reply coming back.
